Forgot to write this review because my friend and I were tipsy and had just been to a funeral and life is hard- this is for September. Let me tell you: Tamika was the best waitress ever. My friend and I ordered two baskets of mozzarella sticks. Zero judgement from Tamika. In fact, she thought it was funny and shared plenty of laughs with us. The cheese? Superb, and laid on cabbage to separate the oil. Genius. 100/10 experience. Tamika if you still work here, you’re my favorite server of all time and you deserve a raise. Much love! Also the floor was clean which was awesome considering it was in the evening downtown. If you know you know!
Staff are always considerate, offering you what you need before you know you need it! I'd ordered the Calypso Burger, extra mayo, and the waitress handed me more napkins before I could get embarrassed, haha. Speaking of, the burger was absolutely killer. Juicy, tall, usually I can't stand eating them but I absolutely had to try it. And it knocked it out of the park! Was eating like a caveman by the fourth bite, and I'll absolutely be back for another one soon enough. If you're in the area, it's a reliable, fairly priced choice for a quick meal. Gets busy later on at night, though, so if you're hungry, get on line quick.
Not bad for a walk-in bar restaurant. The food is decent but nothing magical - box burgers, wings, fries; patty melt, fried pickles etc. Their beer selection isn't bad - mostly bottled, and largely domestic options - but limited. You're not coming there for your next big craft selection, so don't come in thinking it ought to have taps. if you want all that, go to Prohibition or Meehan's. Their fries were surprisingly good (crispy on the outside, fluffy thick cut, interior); their handhelds cooked correctly and seasoned appropriately. They don't offer alternatives (gf, v, df) on the menu, so don't go looking for a black bean burger or gluten free bun selection. The kitchen was kind enough to make my burger without a bun (pictured), and they do have a few more topper options than American cheese, so it evened out (to me). Amanda was the best part of the visit - kept us laughing, and our cups full. I'd go back.
JUICIEST BURGER Idk why some people are saying their burgers were over cooked, my Calypso Burger was made very well! I squeezed It, and It just oozed goodness. I didn’t realize you had to seat yourself so that took me a second, but once seated outside we were quickly greeted. We unfortunately couldn’t stay long due to other plans we had, however the server was nice enough to bring our check immediately with to-go boxes and bags. Their beers are cold and the vibes are perfect for a hot summer day. highly recommend & will definitely visit again!!
Big shout out to Demika and her crew Saturday night (Sept. 27)—they were amazing! Service was spot on, food came out hot, fresh, and super tasty. My wife loved her chicken philly (10/10!), and my build-a-burger was perfect—I cleaned the plate. Even the jalapeño poppers had a real kick. First time here, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
